About Us

We are committed to providing high-quality and interactive lessons to students up to the age of 16. We believe that our students shouldn't just be taught to pass their exams but to prepare them for their future studies, wherever their curiosity might take them, and these core values are reflected in the lessons that our enthusiastic tutors put together.

We offer lessons in a variety of subjects, in particular, Maths, English and Science, from Primary School all the way up to GCSE. Lessons are conducted at Harrow High School or online when required. If you'd like to give your child some extra support why not give us a try with one of our free trial lessons?

Teacher and Student

WHAT WE TEACH

A brief outline of what our teaching is centred on

English:

  • Reading easily, fluently and with good understanding.

  • Developing the habit of reading widely and often, for both pleasure and information.

  • Acquiring a wide vocabulary, an understanding of grammar and knowledge of linguistic conventions for reading, writing and spoken language

  • Appreciating our rich and varied literary heritage.

  • Writing clearly, accurately and coherently, adapting language and style in and for a range of contexts, purposes and audiences.

  • Using discussion in order to learn; being able to elaborate and explain clearly their understanding and ideas.

  • Being competent in the arts of speaking and listening, making formal presentations, demonstrating to others and participating in debates.

Maths:

  • Becoming fluent in the fundamentals of Mathematics, including through varied and frequent practice with increasingly complex problems over time, so that pupils develop conceptual understanding and the ability to recall and apply knowledge rapidly and accurately.

  • Reasoning mathematically by following a line of enquiry, conjecturing relationships and generalisations, and developing an argument, justification or proof using mathematical language.

  • Solving problems by applying their Mathematics to a variety of routine and non-routine problems with increasing sophistication, including breaking down problems into a series of simpler steps and persevering in seeking solutions.

Science:

  • Developing scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

  • Developing an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of Science through different types of Science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them.

  • Being equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of Science, today and for the future.
